What does an acting coach do?

1

An acting coach helps actors prepare for auditions, self-tapes, callbacks, chemistry reads, and on-set performances. My job is not to tell you how to act—it is to help you uncover what is already truthful and unique in your work.

At Book Your Role, we focus on script analysis, emotional preparation, relationship dynamics, on-camera technique, and creating performances that feel authentic, specific, and alive. Together, we’ll develop a repeatable process that helps you make strong choices, stay present under pressure, and deliver auditions that casting directors, producers, and directors remember.

Do you coach self-tapes?

2

Absolutely. Self-tape coaching is one of my specialties.

Whether you’re preparing for a co-star, guest star, recurring, series regular, feature film, commercial, or theatrical audition, I’ll help you break down the material, clarify the story, strengthen your choices, and create a self-tape that feels professional, truthful, and camera-ready.

My clients have booked roles in projects including Scooby Doo: Origins, Wonka, Cobra Kai, Spider-Man, The Pitt, Monster, Ready Player One, network television, streaming series, independent films, and national commercials.

Do I need acting experience?

3

I work with actors at every stage of their journey—from complete beginners to working professionals with extensive credits.

If you’re new to acting, I’ll help you build a strong foundation in script analysis, emotional truth, audition technique, and on-camera performance. If you’re already working, we’ll focus on refining your process, deepening your work, and helping you consistently perform at your highest level.

The most important qualities are curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to grow.

Are classes online?

4

All classes, coaching sessions, and audition preparation sessions are conducted online via Zoom, allowing actors from anywhere in the United States and around the world to train together.

The online format closely mirrors the modern audition process, where most auditions, callbacks, and meetings happen virtually. Students receive direct coaching, scene work, self-tape feedback, and personalized instruction in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Yes. I work extensively with teen actors and young adult performers.

My teen students have appeared in major film and television projects, and many train with me to prepare for auditions, self-tapes, callbacks, acting conservatories, and professional opportunities.

I provide age-appropriate coaching that helps young actors build confidence, strengthen their craft, develop professional habits, and create performances that feel natural and authentic on camera.

I am a Live-Scan approved teacher approved to work with young talent.

Book Your Role combines classical & professional acting training with practical on-camera audition preparation for today’s film and television industry.

Rather than focusing on performance in a vacuum, we work on the skills actors actually need to succeed: script analysis, exploration through specially developed exercises, self-taping, emotional preparation, camera awareness, relationship work, and creating truthful behavior under imaginary circumstances.

My approach is built around helping actors move from empathy to execution—understanding the story deeply and translating that understanding into clear, specific, bookable performances. You will learn how to regulate your nervous system so you can be reliable under pressure. I say I build a fortress of confidence in actors that makes them unshakable.

Private coaching sessions are tailored to your individual goals.

We may work on auditions, self-tapes, scene study, character development, script analysis, career strategy, or on-set preparation. Every session is customized to meet you where you are and help you take the next step in your development as an actor.

You’ll leave each session with actionable tools and a clearer understanding of how to approach your work with confidence and authenticity.

I work with represented children (9 and up), teens, young adults, collegiate, and professional adult actors.

Whether you’re preparing for your very first audition, applying to college acting programs, returning to acting after time away, or building upon your professional career in film and television, my coaching is tailored to your experience level, goals, and needs.

What makes Book Your Role different from other acting classes?

How do private coaching sessions work?

What ages do you work with?

Yes.

I regularly coach actors for auditions with same-day, next-day, and tight turnaround deadlines.

If you receive an audition and need support with script analysis, character work, performance choices, or self-taping, I can build you a CUSTOM AUDITION PREP WORKBOOK to help you prepare efficiently while maintaining the quality and authenticity of your work.

Can you help me prepare for an audition on short notice?

Will coaching help me book more roles?

What is your coaching philosophy?

No acting coach can ethically guarantee bookings.

What I can promise is a process that allows you more freedom, presence, and truth. Guaranteed or I will work with you for free until you do!

My goal is to help you become more confident, more prepared, more specific, and more consistent in your auditions. When actors understand the story, connect deeply to the material, and deliver truthful performances, they give themselves the strongest possible opportunity to be remembered and considered for the role.

Booking is influenced by many factors outside an actor’s control. Your work isn’t one of them.

I believe great acting is rooted in empathy, curiosity, imagination, and truthful behavior.

The actor’s job is not to force emotion or perform an idea. The actor’s job is to understand another human being so deeply that their thoughts, desires, fears, and choices become personal and alive.

At Book Your Role, we train actors to listen, respond, discover, and tell the truth moment by moment. When that happens, the work becomes compelling, memorable, and deeply human.
